Endearments

All we need
is the word love
in its crudest from.
And may be
a kiss or two
desperately shared…
clinging on to you
like a fiery flame
holding on resolutely
to the unwavering wick.

Do we need a name,
my beloved, to punctuate,
the melody of passion?
Do we need
words of endearment
to interrupt
our precious moments
of bliss and pain?
