Hibernation

I hibernate,
not to hide,
but to discover.

I hibernate
not to remain safe
from merciless predators,
but to expose myself
to intriguing strangers
and be experimented on
by their expert hands.

I hibernate,
to make myself vulnerable
to the winds of Hatred
and showers of Love.

I hibernate
to get a glimpse
of that strange woman,
hiding somewhere
between my inert shell
and bubbling spirit.

I hibernate to embrace
my unacquainted self…
